COVID-19 Restrictions

As a club operating in Melbourne we’ve obviously been impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions. We follow all of the government requirements with some additional policies specific to the space. All government rules apply, we’ve just highlighted the most common questions below. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the current COVID-19 rules at the hackerspace please contact the committee. If you’re looking for the most up-to-date information, our Discord server is the first to receive updates following any new government announcements.

COVID Safe rules

Government Rules

  • Masks are not required but are strongly recommended where 1.5m social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • All attendees must check in using the Service Victoria government contact tracing app on entry.
  • All attendees are required to have received 2 COVID-19 vaccinations and show their vaccination certificate on check in. This is a government requirement to be double-vaccinated to enter community facilities.

Our Rules

  • All our general sessions welcome newcomers in addition to our regular members.
  • These rules remain in place until another announcement is made by the committee.
  • Wash hands before and after using the space
  • Don’t share dust masks (put your name on one if you need to use one, then reuse).
  • Clean tools and work areas after use.
  • Report any concerns or suggested improvements to the CCHS Committee via email or Discord.

Common Sense

  • Stay home if you have symptoms.
  • Observe social (physical) distancing measures.
  • Use the crook of your elbow if you cough or sneeze.
